About
Dr. Treca Bourne writes about how people learn, lead, and find their way through the systems built to serve them. An organizational learning strategist and longtime educator of adult learners, she is especially interested in the barriers that shape who gets access and who gets left behind. Her doctoral research on community college admissions inspired her book Before They Even Apply: The Hidden Usability Crisis Shaping Access in Community Colleges, and her essays on leadership, learning, and AI appear in Chief Learning Officer, TD Magazine, and the ATD Blog. She lives in Northern Virginia.
My commitment to human potential and capability began in my mother’s K-12 classroom, where I first witnessed how institutions and environments influence who we become. This led to a career in talent development and higher education, which brought me closer to helping shape what’s possible for people.
